The Marjorie Bowman and Robert Choplin New Investigator Award is intended to acknowledge outstanding work of a new primary care investigator. The investigator’s achievements will be based upon their independent scholarship and entire body of work, rather than a single work.
The nominee must be a current NAPCRG member.
This person is a new researcher, and our goal is to encourage that person on their "first win" and investing in the future of the discipline.
The nominee must be within five years of the start of their independent research career. The start of an independent research career may be defined by the following elements:
Five years since completion of terminal degree (e.g. MD, PhD, MSW)
Five years since first peer-reviewed publication
Five years since obvious career transition (i.e. clinical to academic shift, earned mid-career Master’s degree, shifted disciplinary home, etc.)
Note: If selected for an award, you will be asked to provide a thank you letter to the donors who have funded this award through a generous gift. The letter should provide some details about your philosophy about and career aspirations in primary care research.
